Board Meeting - October 16-17, 2024
The Board held its second meeting of 2024 on October 16 and 17 in Shreveport/Bossier City, LA. Board members, invited guests, and community leaders met to discuss community engagement, redevelopment planning, funding opportunities and challenges for community groups, and toured our Site in Bossier City. The team also participated in a community drop-in session about the Site.
Board Meeting - July 11-12, 2024
The Multistate Trust’s Environmental Justice Advisory Board (Board) held an in-person meeting on July 11 and 12 in Washington, D.C. Board members were joined by invited guests and leaders from communities where Multistate Trust sites are located. The meeting included sessions about current local contracting efforts and lessons learned, engaging residents and local officials about site-related work, and preparing for site redevelopment in a way that centers environmental justice. Board members, guests, and community leaders discussed environmental justice initiatives and challenges at local and federal levels, as well as finding and navigating public and private funding opportunities.
Board Meeting - November 9, 2023
The Multistate Trust’s Environmental Justice Advisory Board (Board) held its first in-person meeting on Thursday, November 9, in Washington, D.C. The meeting included sessions about building partnerships to successfully pursue community-supported redevelopment, contracting with local vendors and businesses to build capacity and keep investment in the community, and working with residents to seek compensation for health and medical claims that stem from exposure to contamination. The Board members were joined by invited guests and leaders from communities where Multistate Trust sites are located.
Board Meeting - October 4, 2022
The Multistate Trust’s Environmental Justice Advisory Board (Board) met virtually on October 4, 2022. The meeting focused on the Multistate Trust’s redevelopment planning efforts in communities with environmental justice concerns. Board members heard from the Multistate Trust, community stakeholders, and other panelists, and shared insight and best practices around successful redevelopment and reuse planning.
The Board consists of diverse individuals who contribute their ideas, knowledge, and expertise; recommend ways to expand and improve the Multistate Trust’s Environmental Justice Program; provide guidance on improving communications and strengthening partnerships with community stakeholders; and suggest strategies for pursuing site reuses consistent with community needs and objectives.

The Multistate Environmental Response Trust’s (Multistate Trust) Environmental Justice Advisory Board (Board) held its second virtual meeting of 2022 on Thursday, June 30.
The meeting focused on recommending ways to improve the Multistate Trust’s community engagement efforts in communities with environmental justice concerns. Board members heard from community stakeholders and advocates, shared information about best practices for community engagement, and offered input on overcoming challenges to engagement.
