Greenfield Environmental Multistate Trust LLC, Trustee of the Multistate Environmental Response Trust (Multistate Trust), is responsible for owning, investigating, cleaning up, and facilitating the safe reuse of hundreds of former Kerr-McGee Corporation and Tronox Incorporated sites in 31 states.

The Multistate Trust is a private, independent environmental response trust created as part of a bankruptcy settlement and dedicated to:

  • Protecting human health and the environment by addressing contamination at its sites;

  • Selling or transferring its sites to facilitate beneficial, community-supported reuses; and

  • Providing opportunities for meaningful community involvement.

Environmental Justice Advisory Board Meeting - Oct 2024

The Multistate Trust’s Environmental Justice Advisory Board held its second meeting of 2024 on October 16 and 17 in Shreveport/Bossier City, LA. Board members, invited guests, and community leaders met to discuss community engagement, redevelopment planning, funding opportunities and challenges for community groups, and toured our Site in Bossier City. As the professional service provider to the court-appointed trustees of multiple environmental and custodial trusts, including the Multistate Trust, Greenfield Environmental Trust Group, Inc. owns, cleans up, and facilitates responsible reuse of hundreds of contaminated sites nationwide.

These properties range from former chemical, petroleum, and manufacturing facilities, historic wood treatment sites, mine-scarred lands, and service station sites. This map depicts the locations of some of the sites that Greenfield owns as a trustee.
