Multistate Trust Creates Environmental Justice Advisory Board, Will Hold Board’s Inaugural Meeting January 11, 2022
CAMBRIDGE, MA (January 10, 2022) – Greenfield Environmental Multistate Trust LLC, as trustee of the Multistate Environmental Response Trust (Multistate Trust), has created an Environmental Justice Advisory Board (Board) to recommend ways to manage and remediate contaminated sites and prepare for their beneficial reuse in communities with environmental justice concerns.
The Multistate Trust plans to hold the Board’s first meeting virtually on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The meeting will focus on the Multistate Trust, its Environmental Justice Program goals, challenges, and opportunities, and the Board’s priorities for 2022. The Board consists of diverse individuals who will contribute their ideas, knowledge, and expertise; recommend ways to expand and improve the Multistate Trust’s Environmental Justice Program; provide guidance on improving communications and strengthening partnerships with community stakeholders; and suggest strategies for pursuing site reuses consistent with community needs and objectives.

Claire Woods, Multistate Trust Director of Environmental Justice Policies and Programs, is an ex-officio Board member and the Board liaison to the Multistate Trust.
The Multistate Trust invites the public to attend the open sessions of the Board meeting by Zoom or phone. Members of the public will be able to observe the Board’s open sessions, but will be unable to make comments or ask questions at the inaugural Board meeting.
